There is such a wide variety of books that you can enjoy with your child, accounting for every possible mood or setting. Your voice when you read these stories should reflect that – so explore it!
Read stories with your little one in a different voice to your regular speaking voice. Go deep. Go high. Go wobbly. Go whispery. There’s no such thing as too much variation.
Surprise your child with funny character voices that give them each their own unique personality. Have fun with it. It makes the story a lot more interesting to listen to (and for you to read!) and they won’t judge you for it…just yet.
This is just one way to engage your baby with stories and change up the tried and true activity to provide another layer of entertainment.
